Cosmic Peel takes one of the most universally recognizable everyday forms and sends it somewhere unexpected. Suspended against a luminous white, candy-coated panel, a translucent red banana becomes an improbable object—familiar in silhouette, yet transformed through color, material, and light.

Hand-cast in resin, the sculptural banana contains scattered flecks of color that appear suspended within its translucent form, suggesting fragments of something almost cosmic. Its glossy, glass-like surface catches and refracts light, revealing shifting tones of crimson, pink, and red while emphasizing the dimensionality of the familiar curved silhouette.

The deliberately minimal composition gives the object nowhere to hide. Removed from its expected color and context, the banana becomes something between fruit, artifact, and imagined specimen—an ordinary object made strange simply by changing the rules.
